Sixth Class worked so hard this year at preparing for our Science Fair. It was so much fun but a lot of hard work and time and effort went into it. In pairs or threes we researched an experiment that we had completed in Primary School or one that we were interested in. We had to research what was involved in the experiment - the resources and materials required- and then ensure that we understood the science behind it. There were lots of experiments to keep our guests intrigued. From quicksand to bouncy eggs, from Makey Makey's to robotic hands. We loved showing off all of our experiments and scientific facts.
We had a tough task because we had two audiences that we were presenting our projects to. Firstly, parents and teachers were invited to come to our science fair. We had to be prepared to speak to them in a confident manner and use all of the scientific language that we have been learning in Primary School.
Later in the day, two other groups came to our science fair. They were both First Class. It was very important that we used much simpler language. This meant that we had to understand our experiments and the science behind them very thoroughly.
It was such a fun day. A lot of preparation went into it. From researching the projects to setting up the hall to the big clean up after the fair was over. As you can see from the pictures we all had so much fun and it seemed that the guests all did too! It was a great opportunity to showcase our learning and also for us to understand how tiring teaching can be!
